Tours — commerce and access

Set a guide price

Paid guides can be created and sold through the free foundation within its publishing allowance. The Guides subscription enables freely accessible guide activations and unlimited publishing. Purchased guide access does not consume the subscription activation pool. See Subscription for allowances and the current pricing calculator for rates.

  • Existing outdoor tours can be free or paid. Set the numeric Price in their tour configuration; amounts are stored precisely in currency minor units. Indoor and fixed tours do not support paid prices.
  • Price editing requires supported online checkout to be ready for the organization. Complete the available Stripe or PayPal setup when required; provider availability depends on the organization's payment configuration.
  • Day-plan guides use their own Price calculation and commercial-readiness review. See Day-plan authoring.

Checkout experience

  • Guests purchase paid tours through the standard tour checkout flow in the guest app (card presentation depends on your organization's payment configuration).
  • After a successful purchase, the guest should see the tour as accessible without being asked to pay again for the same entitlement.
  • Guests can find acquired guides in My Visit. Check the purchasing account and recorded order/payment state before repeating checkout.

Marketing or partner-facing documentation should describe commercial terms (fees, revenue shares, payout timing) only from finance- or legal-approved materials. Payment integrations and policies can change over time.

Access after purchase

  • Ownership or entitlement determines whether a signed-in guest can open a paid tour without purchasing again.
  • Confirm visibility (public versus limited access) matches how the tour is meant to be discovered.
  • A later organization downgrade preserves acquired content access. A bookmark or calendar entry by itself does not establish a paid entitlement.

Visibility

  • Public tours are meant to be discoverable via shared links and typical guest flows when your publishing rules allow it.
  • Private tours rely on direct links, assignments, or other controlled distribution—confirm guests receive the correct link for their environment (production versus staging or preview hosts).
  • Tours and steps can use short links where enabled, so marketing materials can use memorable URLs while still opening the guest experience.
